It seems every time Frankie Edgar is involved in a championship bout that goes all five rounds, the decision handed in by the judges is immediately disputed upon its reading by Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) ring announcer Bruce Buffer. And while last night's (Sat., Feb. 2, 2013) UFC 156: "Aldo vs. Edgar" event featured a close bout between "The Answer" and Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo, surely this one would be devoid of controversy, right?
Wrong.
No one is screaming "ROBBERY" from the rooftops but scorecards have varied across the Internet from a close win for Edgar to a draw to justification for Aldo having been awarded the unanimous decision. The official scorecards, by the way, read 49-46, 49-46, and 48-47.

UFC President Dana White felt the scoring was a bit wonky but revealed at the post-fight press conference that he did believe Aldo was the rightful winner. The numbers back up his assessment, as well as that of the cageside judges tasked with declaring a winer.
