UFC 156 is in the books from Las Vegas, Nevada, and as usual, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced the night's winners for "Fight of the Night," "Knockout of the Night," and "Submission of the Night."
All four fighters who received bonuses were awarded an additional $50,000 for their standout efforts.
"Fight of the Night" went to Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar for their thrilling five-round battle that saw the featherweight champion retain his title via unanimous decision, even if "The Answer" felt he did enough to earn the victory.
Doesn't he always?
"Knockout of the Night" was awarded to Antonio Silva, who shocked the world by shutting up Alistair Overeem with a series of punches that shook the ground in "Sin City." Or maybe that was just "The Reem" crashing to the canvas.
Need more horse meat!
Finally, Strikeforce import Bobby Green was awarded "Submission of the Night" for his third round rear-naked choke victory over Jacob Volkmann, who can now finally give up his bid for the Presidency.
You know, after he wakes up.
Here's a final recap of the UFC 156 post-fight bonus winners:
Submission of the Night -- Bobby Green
Knockout of the Night -- Antonio Silva
Fight of the Night -- Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar
Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible.
