Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was back in action last Tuesday night (Jan. 29, 2013) with episode two of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17: "Team Jones vs. Team Sonnen" on the FX channel. If you missed it (shame on you), click here for our full results and recap.

When all was said and done, "Ambush" was good enough for a 0.9 rating and 1.27 million viewers, an audience drop of 16 percent from week one, according to a report from UFC President Dana White's bestie, Dave Meltzer, over at MMA Fighting.

It placed fifth in its time slot on cable in the 18-49 demographic, doing a 0.7. Its main sports competition was college basketball on ESPN, which did 1.71 million viewers head-to-head, but was slightly behind at an 0.6 in the most sought after demographic.

The report also indicates that TUF 17 continues to outpace its Friday night predecessors (by a lot), but also comes up just a bit short compared to the old days of combat sports reality television on Spike TV, which is cranking out a Bellator TUF clone later this year.

And it will be interesting to see those numbers when they do...
