Cat Zingano wasn't too trilled with the news that Sara McMann received the next title shot against 135-pound queen Ronda Rousey, so she took to her twitter account to challenge "Rowdy" to a fight, despite having a torn ACL.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White recently declared that Cat Zingano would still be No. 1 contender to Ronda Rousey's Bantamweight strap.
But, we now know that he meant after Sara McMann got her shot at the gold, first.
The outspoken head honcho announced that McMann would indeed get next crack at Rousey in the main event of UFC 170, which is set to go down on Feb. 22, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada, shortly after "Rowdy" submitted Miesha Tate at UFC 168 this past weekend (Dec. 28, 2013).
And apparently, Zingano was none too pleased with news of losing out on her title shot, taking to her Twitter account the following day to proclaim that she was willing to fight -- and defeat -- Rousey even with a torn ACL.
Ill fight @RondaRousey in the @UFC with a blown ACL right now. I dont want to lose my opportunity. Ill take her at 100% or not & win

Can't deny her toughness.
Nevertheless, "Alpha" still has a bit of rehab to go through before she can get clearance to fight again. The injury cost her a coaching spot opposite Rousey on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 and her much-desired title shot.
Tate was immediately pegged as her replacement, and even though she proved to be a game foe -- becoming the first women to take Rousey out of the first round -- "Cupcake" ultimately fell victim to "Rowdy's" trademark armbar once again (video here).
While no one can blame Zingano for being upset, the fact of the matter is, the show must go on. She may find comfort in knowing that as soon a she is ready and able, she will still likely be "numero uno" in the title hunt.
Whether or not she gets to fight Rousey for the belt is another story.
