Recalled liquid medications from Novartis.
Poor Novartis: things just keep going wrong at their plants. Last year, they had multiple recalls, including many of their over-the-counter drugs and a line of birth control pills. Now, the company has recalled liquid Triaminic and TheraFlu products because the products’ caps aren’t childproof. The Consumer Products Safety Commission has heard about twelve kids who have opened the bottle themselves, four of whom had a taste. One needed medical attention.
24 different Triaminic and Theraflu products are part of the recall: you can download a PDF of the full list here, and get the refund form at the Novartis Consumer Health recall site. If you have questions about the recall, e-mail Novartisotc.nchus@novartis.com or call 866-553-6742, Monday-Saturday from 8 AM to midnight EST.
Novartis OTC products like Slow-Fe and Excedrin from the a troubled Nebraska plant went off the market for a while, prompting a brisk secondary market for brand-name Excedrin.
