Styles make fights.
Or, in the case of Vinny Magalhaes, his top-shelf Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a "horrible" style that would give Phil Davis fits with enough time to prepare for the NCAA Division I wrestling powerhouse out of Penn State University.
"Pezao" now has three full months to train for "Mr. Wonderful."
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced via "UFC Tonight" that Magalhaes and Davis will get to take their Twitter.com fight offline, colliding in a Light Heavyweight showdown set for UFC 159, which is scheduled to take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on April 27, 2013.
Magalhaes recently made a successful return to the Octagon with a seemingly effortless submission over Igor Pokrajac at UFC 152 in Sept. 2012, locking in a a tight first round armbar that forced a quick tap. The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 8 runner up was then offered a short-notice fight against Davis at UFC 155 when Forrest Griffin was injured; however, Magalhaes turned it down because he was out of shape.
Then all hell broke lose on the Twitterverse.
Davis has not competed since submitting Wagner Prado with an anaconda choke at UFC 153: "Silva vs. Bonnar" in Oct. 2012. It served as a rematch after their UFC on Fox 4 bout ended in a dreaded "No Contest" because of an accidental eye poke back in Aug. 2012.
UFC 159 will feature a 205-pound main event title fight between Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, putting his belt on the line for the fifth time against two-time middleweight title challenger and divisional No. 1 contender Chael Sonnen.
