Did Carlos Condit or Martin Kampmann win last night (Weds., Aug. 28, 2013) in UFC Fight Night 27 main event from Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana? MMAmania.com will deliver LIVE stream round-by-round full-fight blog coverage of the five-round, non-title Welterweight bout on FOX Sports 1 that pits "Natural Born Killer" against "The Hitman." Be sure to check back often (full match results are below) for latest updates to find out who won the pivotal mixed martial arts (MMA) rematch between Carlos Condit vs. Martin Kampmann 2 at UFC Fight Night 27.
The first time Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann butted heads, it was all the way back in April 2009. It was a different mixed martial arts (MMA) world back then. Brock Lesnar was the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight champion, Anderson Silva was still undefeated under the Zuffa banner, Chuck Liddell hadn't yet been beaten into retirement, and World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) still existed.
It was from with that promotion that Condit arrived, where he destroyed absolutely every opponent placed in front of him. He was so good, he jumped out of the frying pan straight into the fire of a main event free television slot in his debut against a six-time veteran of the Octagon in Kampmann, a crafty veteran with a few tricks up his sleeve.
What "The Hitman" lacked in "The Natural Born Killer's" flash, he made up for in resourcefulness.
It was an even match-up, extremely closely contested over three grueling rounds and 15 minutes of action. In the end, the Danish striker was awarded the victory via split decision. Since that night, more than three years ago, Condit has been wanting to avenge that defeat.
Now, in the main event of yet another free television show, UFC Fight Night 27: "Condit vs. Kampmann 2" tonight (Wed., Aug. 28, 2013) at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind., he'll finally get his chance.
Tick-tock.
