Hit and don't get hit.

Two-time Olympic gold medal-winning amateur Cuban boxer, Guillermo Rigondeaux, executed his gameplan to perfection last night (Sat., April 13, 2013), outclassing Filipino sensation Nonito Donaire en route to a unanimous decision win at Radio City Music Hall in New York, New York.

Rigondeaux -- who retained his WBA Super Bantamweight title and added the WBO Super Bantamweight belt -- swept the judges scorecards (114-113, 115-112 and 116-111) even though the final numbers didn't necessarily reflect his dominance.

The Cuban, still undefeated as a professional (12-0), delivered a brilliant technical performance that was remarkably effective, but not necessary a treat to watch. He was unapologetic, however, claiming post-fight that he made Donaire -- who was riding an ridiculous 30-fight win streak coming into the 122-pound bout -- "look bad."

Check it out the highlights:

Rigondeaux certainly did, but it was not without some adversity, surviving two knockdowns (first one was ruled a slip) in the tenth round courtesy of a flush left cross that put him momentarily on his butt. He would get to his feet quickly and close out the show with a blistering barrage along the ropes in the twelfth and final round as if nothing happened.

Donaire had no excuses for the loss, admitting that he simply got beat and that he "didn't do his job." That's spot on, considering he only landed 82 punches throughout the entire fight, while trying to keep his right eye from swelling shut.

Better luck next time.
