UFC Quick Quote: Chris Weidman is driving Ed Soares crazy

"Chris Weidman, I saw him in Chicago last Saturday and he was driving me crazy! He kept asking me, 'Hey, let's make that fight happen!' He's very confident and he's a good fighter and we'll see what happens. At the end of the day, we don't pick our opponents. A lot of times people want to say, 'Oh Ed, you picked that!' People ask for my opinion and I give my opinion. Chris Weidman? If he's next, the UFC will make that fight happen. Hopefully, we'll see him in Brazil."

Top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 185-pound contender Chris Weidman is a predator inside the Octagon as well as outside it. His latest prey? Ed Soares (via Sherdog.com), manager for UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, who's been fairly non-committal on his "All American" title defense. "The Spider" hopes to fight this spring, but with Michael Bisping out of the running, no clear contender has emerged. Anyone think the promotion will have no choice but to book Silva vs. Weidman in Brazil? Or do you think UFC matchmaker Joe Silva will wait to see if Hector Lombard can beat Yushin Okami next month in Japan?
