It's just like Strikeforce, only dirtier.
Gian Villante will cross the Hudson River to hook 'em up against fellow ex-Strikeforce prospect Ovince St. Preux as part of the UFC 159: "Jones vs. Sonnen" pay-per-view (PPV) event scheduled for April 27, 2013 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Newsday brought word of the pending match-up earlier today.
After stumbling out of the gate in his Strikeforce debut, posting consecutive losses to Chad Griggs and Lorenz Larkin, Villante (10-3) rebounded with three straight wins to close out his career in the Hexagon. St. Preux (12-5) is also coming off a "W," a knockout victory over T.J. Cook to get him back into the win column after faltering against Gegard Mousasi.
Who wants it more in "The Garden State?"
UFC 159 will feature a light heavyweight title fight pitting champion Jon Jones against challenger and fellow TUF coach Chael Sonnen. Bitter 205-pound rivals Phil Davis and Vinny Magalhaes have also been scheduled to hook 'em up in "Dirty Jersey."
