Come out, come out, wherever you are!
When Anthony Johnson isn't trying to pick a fight with his former Blackzilian teammate, Alistair Overeem, who he dubbed a "pussy," the light heavyweight knockout machine is trying to get a fight in his own division in the form of Alexander Gustafsson.
And much like trying to get a fight against "The Reem," getting one against "The Mauler" has proven to be just as difficult. That's because Gustafsson isn't impressed with "Rumble's" body of work (not even this), and suggested that Johnson go out and get a few more wins before getting the chance to fight him.
Those "dumb" comments didn't sit too well with Johnson, who took to his Facebook page (via MMA Fighting) to once again call out the No. 1 contender and ask him how long he plans on holding out.
@AlexTheMauler I've respected you and asked for a awesome fight. You said some things that were pretty dumb as if you are the champion but I understand why you feel the way you do. If I was you I'd want a rematch too but guess what? You aren't getting it right now so let's fight! How long are you gonna sit and wait? Sorry I mean hide? I mean you feel you are the best then YOU should wanna fight EVERYBODY! What are you waiting on? I'm on the BATTLEFIELD are you still on the PLAYGROUND? The ball is in your court!
Johnson also took another slight jab at the towering Swede:
After initially claiming that he would sit as long as it took to let Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones fight it out for the belt -- which goes down at UFC 182 on Jan. 3, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada -- in order to secure his title shot, Gus had a change of heart after a conversation with Lorenzo Fertitta.
That's because the UFC CEO guaranteed Alex a title fight if he proved victorious against another foe in the interim.
And though the other head honcho, Dana White, suggested that a match up between Gustafsson and Johnson is what "makes sense," Gus doesn't seem to agree.
So if not Johnson, then who?
