It's no surprise that UFC President Dana White didn't take the news very well that UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture had nixed the end of his FOX deal and signed on with Spike TV.
That's his nature.
"The Natural" expected the worst, so at least he wasn't caught off guard when the UFC head honcho started spouting off about him being "less than a man" when outside the cage.
Check out what the former five-time UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight champion had to say to ESPN about White after yesterday's press conference, outlining his future with Spike TV alongside the likes of Greg Jackson, Frank Shamrock and Joe Warren.
"If Dana's anything he's predictable. You know how he's going to be. We anticipated that. We kind of knew where it was gonna end up. It's unfortunate that it has to be that way, because I don't think it's necessary. But Dana's Dana."
During the press conference, he explained that White's reaction has actually made it easier for him to move on to the next stage of his career, helping gain some publicity for the move.
"In a lot of ways you have to thank Dana White. He's made this transition for me back to Spike very, very good. He's made it easy. The media storm and sensation has been wonderful, we really appreciate that. I have to thank him for that, you have to respect his passion for what he does, and that's admirable."
Of course, you take the good with the bad, and the bad, for him at least, is the belief that "Captain America" 'has burned his bridges with UFC permanently.
"All the things that have taken place in the last couple weeks, I'd be surprised if there's an opportunity to come back. I don't think there's any going back."
Thankfully, his son Ryan hasn't been caught in the crossfire and will continue on with his career in the UFC lightweight division after a successful run in Strikeforce.
